Casey Grant....Assistant Coach
Hello, my name is Casey Grant; I am 18 years old and have played basketball for 11 years. I have played at Logan Basketball since I began playing.
I have been coaching for around 4 years where i started with the Fun time clinics and Junior Development Programs on a Friday afternoon. I also was coaching and reffing the mini ball games on a Saturday morning.
I then chose to coach at a higher level and received the best opportunity to be the assistant coach of the under 14 premier league girl’s team. The girls were amazing and lead us to going undefeated throughout the season winning both the BQJDC and the State Classics. We could not have done this without the work of the coach Justin Vasterink.
Justin was the head coach of my under 18 team where I was the vice captain. I am now also playing D League for the second year. Justin was the assistant coach of my D League team last year and is the head coach of the Girls D League team this year.
Throughout my schooling years i also played basketball as the captain and our team played at the school Nationals twice. We also made it all the way from Grade 8 to 12 undefeated in the SECCA competition for Catholic Schools.
Our under 14 girls are a great bunch of friends who really shine amongst all the players in the league and I’m sure will do a phenomenal job at the National Championships in Hobart Tasmania
A great thanks to everyone who is helping and supporting the girls to get to Tasmania, It is greatly appreciated
Casey Grant
